Activator of nitric oxide
Arginine is not one of the essential amino acids (those that the organism is unable to produce), but its synthesis, by the body in accretion, is not sufficient to cover the needs. For this reason arginine is called a semi-essential amino acid.
Arginine plays a role in the synthesis of creatine, then in power. Furthermore arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide which promotes vasodilation and, therefore, an improved circulation of the muscle.
Assumption after the effort, arginine helps to regulate the disposal of the ammonia that is released into the body following physical effort and which, if not properly disposed of, would be toxic to the same.
